CGI in the Common Core Classroom

Learn how using a Cognitively Guided Instruction approach for teaching mathematics helps teachers implement the California Common Core State Standards. We will focus on the Standards for Mathematical Practices and show how a CGI classroom effectively incorporates these practices. Classroom examples will also show how the content standards for first and second grade are addressed through a variety of rich mathematical problem-solving activities that develop number sense and critical thinking.
